The "Hidden" Constitution
By Andy Carlton Olivo
Andrew Carlton Olivo is a young attorney practicing in the DFW area. Mr. Olivo showed an early aptitude for legal and constitutional issues, having been a member of his high school's national championship debate team and having been selected as a delegate to the American Legion's Boys State program. After high school, Andrew stayed local, attending the University of North Texas, and gaining a BA in Political Science, with extensive coursework and scholarship in comparative constitutional issues. While attending law school at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Andrew was a member of the law school's President's Council and Admissions Committee, and was elected Senator of the Student Bar Association, President of a student organization, and a member of many others. During his time there, Andrew's was heavily influenced by Republican-appointed constitutional law lecturers, including Judge Xavier Rodriguez, Judge Patrick Higginbotham, and Justice Antonin Scalia. A published author on constitutional, intelligence and national security law, Mr. Olivo regularly speaks to classrooms and conferences around Texas on constitutional issues.

Why I left Cuba
By Rafael Cruz
(Father of Ted Cruz
)

Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, embodies the American Dream. Born in Cuba, Rafael suffered under a cruel, oppressive dictator. He began fighting Batista’s regime as a teenager and was imprisoned and tortured – beaten nearly to death – simply to be free.

Rafael arrived in Texas in 1957 with nothing but the clothes on his back and one hundred dollars sewn into his underwear. He got a job as a dishwasher, making 50 cents an hour, and worked his way through the University of Texas, while learning English. Ted Cruz’s father then built a small business in pursuit of the American Dream.

Rafael Cruz became active in conservative politics during the 1980 Presidential Campaign of Ronald Reagan. He served on the Board of Star of Hope Mission and joined the State Board of The Religious Roundtable, a grassroots Judeo-Christian organization that had an important impact on the future of political dialogue.

Today, Rafael is a pastor based in North Texas and serves as the Director of Purifying Fire Ministries, which ministers in the U.S., Mexico, and Central America. He is also a professor of Bible and Theology, and the president of Kingdom Translation Services
